Caramelized figs: the simple and delicious preserve!

INGREDIENTS
1kg of figs
200g (1 cup) of sugar
Lemon (peel)
100ml (1/4 cup) of water
30ml (2 1/2 tbsp) of rum
METHOD
1. Arrange the figs in a pan and then pour the sugar and add the lemon peel. Close with a lid and leave to macerate for 12 hours.
2. After time has elapsed transfer the pan to the heat and pour rum, water and put on the heat for 2 hours.
3. Place the figs in the jar and pour the caramelized sugar over the figs. Close with the lid and turn it upside down.
4. Let it cool completely and serve on a serving dish.
