INGREDIENTS
300g of all-purpose flour
150g of butter, cubed
2 tbsp of cold water
Salt to taste
METHOD
1. In a food processor, combine the flour, cold cubed butter, a pinch of salt, and 2 tablespoons of water.
2. Mix until you get a workable dough. If the dough is too dry, add one tablespoon of water at a time and continue mixing until you reach the right consistency (since tablespoon sizes can vary).
3. Transfer the dough to a work surface and form it into a ball. The shortcrust pastry should be elastic and workable.
4. At this point, you can refrigerate it until ready to use or use it immediately.
5. Roll out the dough using a rolling pin and a bit of flour to prevent sticking. You can now use it as a base for savory tarts and tartlets.
