Clafoutis squares: the delicious soft and creamy French dessert!

INGREDIENTS
600g (4 cups) pitted cherries (fresh or frozen);
30ml (2 tbsp) butter, melted;
4 eggs;
240ml (1 cup) milk;
100g (¾ cup) all-purpose flour;
¼ tsp salt;
¼ tsp vanilla extract;
100g (½ cup) sugar;
Powdered sugar for serving.
METHOD
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F. Butter a 20x20cm square pan and dust it with flour.
- Whisk butter with eggs, vanilla, and sugar. Add flour and salt. Whisk until smooth batter forms.
- Pour in milk and whisk the batter until smooth.
- Layer pitted cherries on the bottom of a baking pan. Pour batter on top and bake for 40-45 minutes.
- Cool down, slice into squares, and serve dusted with powdered sugar.
