Flower cake: the ideal for surprise your guests!

A delicious idea to make ad incredible dinner that will surprise everyone!
INGREDIENTS
For the meat:
400g minced beef
1 onion, chopped
1 egg
30ml (2 tbsp) vegetable oil
1g (1 tsp) thyme
1g (1/2 tsp) chili flakes
9g (1 1/2 tsp) salt
1g (1/2 tsp) black pepper
For the cake:
2 sheets puff pastry
4 zucchini
30ml (2 tbsp) water
5 cherry tomatoes
10mini-balls mozzarella
1 egg yolk
Water
METHOD
- In a bowl combine minced beef, onion, egg, thyme, chili flakes, salt, black pepper and vegetable oil. Mix well and then shape small meatballs. Set aside.
- Cut zucchini lengthwise into 3 mm (1⁄8 inch) thick planks.
- Cut 1 puff pastry sheet into 13 -15 stripes. The stripes should be as wide as zucchini are.
- Top 10-12 stripes of puff pastry with a slice of zucchini and a meatball.
- Flatten the meatball a bit, top with zucchini and one more meatball.
- Flatten the top meatball as well and cling the edges of the pastry together to make a “petal”. Continue with the rest of the pastry strips.
- Cut out a circle from the second sheet of pastry, exactly to fit the size of your baking dish/tray.
- Place a small bowl or glass in the center of the round pastry. Arrange all “petals” around the bowl in the shape of a flower.
- Brush the edges of the circle sheet of pastry with water and seal them to the back of the “petals”.
- Take 3 pastry stripes, top them with zucchini or courgette plank and cover with the remaining meat. Roll a strip into a tight circle and wrap the next stripe around the first one.
- Do the same procedure with the third stripe and place the circle in the center of the cake.
- Fill empty spaces between the center and petals with more pastry stripes and zucchini.
- Cut cherry tomatoes in half and put on top of inner meatballs and arrange mozzarella balls right under the cherry.
- Brush the edges of the flower cake with egg yolk.
- Bake in the preheated to 200C/400F oven for 30-35 minutes.
- Share between plates and enjoy.
