What is Mcflurry?

McFlurry is a brand of flavored ice cream sold by the fast food chain McDonald's. While it originated in Canada, it was first sold in the US in 1997.

While the original McFlurry is made with Oreo cookies, these days you will find many different flavors at your local McDonald’s. Travel around the world, and you will find unique and interesting flavors of McFlurry, some of which include the Cheesecake McFlurry, Cadbury Cream Egg McFlurry, Matcha McFlurry, and even an Apple Pie McFlurry.

Mcdonald's Copycat Mcflurry Ingredients

Whipping Cream – use full fat for best results.

Condensed Milk – add sweetness and also creates a smooth ice cream.

Vanilla Extract – gives the McFlurry more flavor.

Toppings – use any of your favorite toppings, see below for our tips.

How To Make Mcdonald's Mcflurry

Beat the whipping cream, vanilla, and condensed milk until light and airy. Pour into silicone ice molds and allow to freeze. Transfer the frozen pieces to a high-powered blender until smooth and creamy.

Scoop into a cup and serve with your favorite toppings. If you don’t have a blender, pour the whipped mixture into a large baking tin instead and freeze. Once frozen, use a fork or spoon to scrape the ice cream into a cup.

Mcdonald's Mcflurry Flavors

Oreo – blend a few oreo cookies with the ice cream mixture before scooping it into the cups.

Coffee – scoop the ice cream into the cups and top with a shot of espresso.

Hazelnut – add ½ cup Nutella to the blender when blending the ice cream.

Cheesecake – add cream cheese to the blender, and top with passion fruit curd.

Here are a few delicious toppings to try:

  • Crushed animal biscuits
  • Chocolate chips
  • Caramel sauces
  • Strawberry sauce

Tips

If you’re using the no-blend method, make sure to use a metal tin. This will help the ice cream to freeze quickly, which means the ice cream will be smoother.

Make sure to whip the cream and condensed milk well. This incorporates air into the mixture, which creates a light and smooth ice cream that freezes well.
