Magic cake: the soft dessert with a delicate taste!

Easy and fast to pull together. The result is so delicious, give it a try!

INGREDIENTS
4 eggs
113g (1/2 cup) butter, at room temperature
135g (2/3 cup) sugar
10g (2 tsp) vanilla extract
Zest of 2 lemons
125g (1 cup) all-purpose flour
500ml (2 cups) milk

For Serving:
Sweetened whipped cream
Lemon slices
Powdered sugar

METHOD
  1. Preheat oven to 300F (150C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch (20x20cm) pan with parchment paper.
  2. Separate egg whites from yolks. Mix egg yolks with sugar, butter vanilla extract and lemon zest until smooth. Add flour and mix until well blended. Add milk and continue mixing at low speed until homogenous.
  3. In another bowl whip the whites until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whites into the milk and yolks mixture.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 80-90 minutes at 300°F/150°С until lightly golden. Let it cool completely in the pan and refrigerate to set for a couple of hours.
  5. Trim the edges and cut the cake into bars. Top the bars with icing sugar, whipped cream and lemon slices.
