published on 3 February, 2023 at 16:00
INGREDIENTS
30g of raisins
50ml (1/4 cup) + 200ml (3/4 cup) of water
1/2 tsp of sugar
2g of dry yeast
250g (2 cups) of all-purpose flour
A pinch of salt
Oil for frying
Powdered sugar
METHOD
1. In a small bowl add the raisins and water and set aside.
2. In another small bowl add the water, sugar, and yeast and mix all together to prepare the yeast.
3. In a mixing bowl add the flour and prepared yeast, salt, and water. Mix all together well with the wooden spoon to obtain the no-lumps mixture.
4. Add the raisins to the mixture and continue mixing until all is well combined. Cover with cling film and let it rise for 4 hours.
5. Take the mixture with the spoon and transfer it to the pan with the hot oil. Fry the fritters until they are golden brown.
