Orange tarts: the recipe for an easy and fragrant dessert

Ingredients:
- For the shortcrust pastry:
250 g of flour
150 g of butter
90 g of powdered sugar
50 g of egg yolks
1 pinch of salt
Grated orange peel
- For the frangipani:
125 g of butter
125 g of powdered sugar
125 g of eggs
125 g of almond flour
55 g of flour
Grated orange peel
- For decoration:
Orange jam
3 or 4 sliced oranges
Gelatin (optional)
Preparazione:
1. Start by making the shortcrust pastry by mixing butter, powdered sugar, egg yolks, salt and orange peel.
2. Knead until you get a smooth dough.
3. Cover the dough with some plastic wrap and let it rest in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
4. Make the frangipani now by mixing butter and powdered sugar using electrical whisks.
5. Then add eggs, almond flour, flour and orange peel too.
6. Spread the dough with a rolling pin, then use a cookie cutter to make some disks out of the dough.
7. Cover the mold bottom with the dough, fill with jam and frangipani then decorate with an orange slice on top of the tart.
8. Bake at 180 degrees for 20 to 22 minutes.
9. If you prefer, after cooking them you can use gelatin to add some shine to your tarts.
