Ham and cheese stuffed arepas: a soft corn cakes you must try!

A favorite in Venezuela these hot, toasted cakes of soft corn that are slightly sweet and salty!
If you have never heard of an arepa before, well, let me introduce you to this wonderful new thing.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups corn flour;
2 ½ cups warm water;
1 tsp salt.
METHOD

2 cups corn flour;
2 ½ cups warm water;
1 tsp salt.
METHOD
- Combine flour and salt and pour some warm water in.
- Knead the dough until it is soft and smooth, add more flour if it is too sticky.
- Coat your hands with some vegetable oil and make 6 pancake shaped arepas.
- Heat a small amount of vegetable oil over medium heat and cook arepas until golden on both sides.
- Transfer onto a baking sheet and bake at 170C/340F for 10
