Honey Chilli Potato: a very popular Chinese appetizer dish for potato lovers

Ingredients
1 Kg Potatoes, peeled
⅓ Cup Cornflour
1 ½ Tbsp Oil + for frying
2 Tsp Garlic, minced
¼ Cup Ketchup
2 Tsp Vinegar
2 Tbsp Honey
1 Tsp Soy Sauce
Salt & Pepper to taste
¼ Tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
Sesame Seeds, for garnish
Spring Onion, for garnish

¼ Cup Ketchup
2 Tsp Vinegar
2 Tbsp Honey
1 Tsp Soy Sauce
Salt & Pepper to taste
¼ Tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
Sesame Seeds, for garnish
Spring Onion, for garnish
Directions:
Place the potatoes on a cutting board and even out all the sides. Slice the potatoes into rectangle pieces and further cut into shapes of french fries. Repeat with all the potatoes and transfer to a large bowl. Add cornflour to the cut potatoes and toss well to coat evenly. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat for frying. Add the coated potatoes to the hot oil and cook for 30-35 minutes while turning in between for even colouring and cooking. Once cooked, transfer to a bowl lined with absorbent paper and keep aside. In another deep pan, heat 1 ½ tbsp oil over medium heat and add garlic. Saute for 20 seconds and add ketchup, vinegar, honey, soy sauce, salt, pepper and red chilli powder. Mix well. Add the cooked french fries to the ketchup mix and toss well. Once cooked, transfer to a serving platter, garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion and serve hot.
