INGREDIENTS
INGREDIENTS
500g ground beef
400g sausage
½ cup breadcrumbs
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp chopped parsley
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 tbsp tomato paste
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper
200g mozzarella, cut into cubes
350g spaghetti, cooked
2 tsp Italian herbs
2 eggs
1/2 cup grated parmesan
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
oil, for frying
Grated Parmesan to serve
Finely chopped parsley to serve
METHOD
- Add beef, sausage, breadcrumbs, eggs, parsley, tomato paste, garlic, salt and pepper in a large bowl and mix well until combined.
- Using an ice cream spoon, take the meat mixture, then place the mozzarella cube in the center of meat and wrap the meat around to seal.
- Fry all meatballs in a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, add eggs, Italian herbs, parmesan, salt and pepper to taste. Add cooked spaghetti and mix thoroughly to evenly cover.
- Place a small amount of spaghetti on a piece of plastic wrap and place the meatballs in the center. Gather the edges and wrap spaghetti and meatballs. Place in a muffin pan to keep its shape. Repeat until you have 12 packets of spaghetti. Put in the freezer for at least 1 hour.
- Heat the oil to 175°C/340°F, unfold the pockets and fry until golden brown.
- Serve with tomato sauce, plenty of grated parmesan and fresh parsley.
