Green Bean Casserole: the perfect recipe anytime

Ingredients:
CRISPY ONION TOPPING:
2 white onions thinly sliced
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons panko bread crumbs
1 teaspoon salt
GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE:
1/2 pound bacon diced
2 cloves garlic minced
2 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup half and half
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 pounds frozen green beans defrosted
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, toss sliced onions together with 1/4 cup flour, bread crumbs, and salt. Spread out in an even layer on the baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Add in garlic and saute 30 seconds. Stir in flour until completely dissolved. Pour in chicken broth, black pepper, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil and let simmer until thickened, about 3 minutes. Place green beans into a pan. Pour bacon mixture over the green beans and toss to coat. Bake in the oven. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the cooked, crisp onions on top. Return to the oven for 5 minutes before serving.
