The Hibernator, the 8,000 calorie food that no-one has ever finished
published on 27 July, 2018 at 16:15
"The Hibernator" is a "legendary" dish served at Manchester's Bear Grills Cafe which weighs almost three and a half kilos and has a massive caloric intake: 8,000 calories. "The Hibernator" consists of eight slices of bacon, eight sausages, four fried eggs and an omelet with cheese, four waffles, four toasts and as many slices of fried bread, beans, chips, tomatoes, mushrooms - with two pints of milkshake to wash it all down. Calculating that the maximum daily need of a sedentary man is around 2,500 calories, this dish could affect the health of any daredevil who decides not to leave even a crumb. So far, no one has managed to finish the monster meal. To find the courage to defeat "The hibernator", the Cafe has even set up a £100 prize. "We ask everyone to fully understand what they are going to face", explained the owner of the Cafe. Customers must sign a legal disclaimer before they attempt the Man vs Food style challenge to confirm they are over 18 and have no underlying health conditions because of the shockingly high calorie and fat content.
